- 4/18 11:30 am - The writing explaining the steps is very thorough and easy to follow. The VO is mostly clear, although there is some noticeable popping and peaks at the beginning. Use diffusion to create soft, even lighting on the subject and be sure to separate the subject from the background to eliminate unwanted shadows on walls. Instead of speeding up most of the makeup applications, try using quick, natural shots that cut between beginning, middle and complete applications.
- 3/12 11:08 am - Nice intro. Audio seems to dip after intro. This is a very quick introduction—each step could be given more time. The video seems rushed—give it time to breathe, don’t oversimplify. The sped-up video of them applying the makeup is at times a bit scary.

- 3/9 5:31 pm - what works
good concept to cover diverse range of skin types; good list of items and inclusion of pricing (perhaps mention what total supplies might cost); nice coverage of steps shown; music and voice mix good;
what could make it better
cleaner recording of voice over without pops into mic; some of the extreme close ups are too much for the viewer; avoid fast motion trick; lighting uneven and very important for fashion; odd cut to step 3; ending felt a bit abrupt.
- 3/7 10:12 pm - I like the diversity of the people represented in your piece. It's nice to have a make up demo representing different skin tones. I also liked the writing of your piece. You did a good job of providing some context to the demonstration at the beginning (make up is fun, etc.). Your shots captured each step well and you mixed in each of your models throughout the piece. Your voice over was professionally delivered.
Work on your camera work, particularly, your lighting. Lighting for make up tutorial can be tricky, but each of your models appeared to be lit differently and in different environments. For something such as this, you want to make sure the lighting look is consistent across the board. I liked the graphics you used of each product, but I'm not sure why you felt the need to include pricing, since this was not discussed in the piece. Those numbers cluttered your screen and they fell outside of title safe. Overall, this piece has a lot of promise in the writing. Keep working on your camera work and overall production value.
