In this visual-heavy, conceptual music video, two young men are kidnapped and thrown into two very different, unique paths of life. After following both of their powerful journeys, they relocate each other and realize that even though their paths of life are so different, they should still stay faithful to their family, friends, and everyone that helped them get to this point in their career.
Positives: 1. Your framing and composition was very well done. You have a natural eye for that. You also had a good use of foreground elements to add depth to your shots. You also did a nice job of varying both static and moving shots. 2. The color grading of the piece was nice as well. It was natural and matched the theme of your piece. It looked nice and cinematic
Improvements: 1. The variety of your shots and your great compositions kept the piece moving along and interesting to watch. However, I wish there was a stronger story behind your piece. There wasn't much motivation for the kidnapping and then most of the piece was just them walking home. Maybe you could have intercut and incorporated a backstory during their walk home. 2. Be mindful of character wardrobe. You should avoid all logos on clothing unless it serves a purpose for the story. When you start to do this professionally, you not only have to remove logos bc of copyrights, but also logos can be distracting for the audience. If you are trying to make a fantasy world, then a logo for a big brand ruins that illusion. In your piece, I am talking about the North Face hoodie one of the characters was wearing.
Positives: Good editing to the beat. Good framing and composition and use of vanishing point. Good use of diverse locations.
Improvements: Why were the characters kidnapped? Where were they kidnapped from? Establishing a few quick details about where they were so we know where they're trying to get back to and even a hint about why they're kidnapped in the first place will help the viewer get into the narrative and root for the characters.
