  • 4/19 9:49 am - Nice variety of shots, the interviews looked outstanding and the other use of artificial light gave a nice clean look. The exterior shots had nice movement and purpose to them as well. Great variance of perspectives, composition and detail. The mixed movement wasn't overdone, which is typically a hard balance for this type of work.
  • 3/31 3:37 pm - Camera: - Camera work was effective--showed diverse range of camera shots, and compositions. -There are a few shots that are particularly nice, like the CU of the music box crank being turned. Crisp images and a nice shallow depth of field here. -You can improve by adding more camera movement. Most shots are relatively static. Lighting: -The opening shot is very nice, I like the use of green light and how you created the silhouette Editing: -I think the song choice could have been a little more effective. It doesn't necessary build or tell the audience how to feel, so seeing these images together doesn't necessarily create an overall mood or feel.

Positives: Great camera work and use of available light. Editing was good. Good use of effects.

Improvements: Maybe adding some back light to dark scenes would give better separation to your subjects.

Positives: -A good variety of images here. Shows that you as a DP have a diverse skill set. Macro, timelapse, tracking shots, interviews, etc. -Some really interesting and bold color usage.

Improvements: - I think the song you use and the editing sells your images a bit short. Some of the frames are really well composed and dramatic, but you're not giving them the time and attention in the edit. Accentuate your strengths. -The shot of the guy spilling his coffee is not on par with the rest of your shots. It's funny, but it's not something I would put in a reel to show of cinematography. The frame doesn't feel very intentional - we're off axis on a weird angle. If I were to do that shot again, I would ask myself, is this still an interesting composition if I remove the characters and the action?

Positives: I loved the Macro shots of the music box and the time lapse of the sunrise. Composition and lighting of interviews looks very professional.

Improvements: I think the length of black at the beginning was to long and the first cut after that came to fast.
