Eliza Cadkin suffers from a gastrointestinal disease that has made it hard for to eat food. This is her story.
Positives: Nice transition into the the hall from the intro! Great soundbites and clearly well though out. Pacing is great!
Improvements: Not any major improvements until I got to the end with the VO stating it is a news story.
Positives: Good narrative and storytelling. Good composition on interviews.
Improvements: The cinematography and lighting could be improved. It looked like auto focus was on during one interview.
Positives: The documentary does a wonderful job making Eliza’s unique struggles clear to the audience. The true loss is highlighted by the emphasis on the social aspects of food and eating rituals we have. The sound is mixed well to highlight the dialogue and fill in the areas around it.
Improvements: Despite liking the mix a lot, the choice of music is too emotionally manipulative and repetitive. Finding music that works on a free site is difficult, but worth the effort. When screening for a festival, the ending should be handled differently rather than having the reporter’s name at the end.
