Christmas time is near. Time to stay out of trouble and get on the nice list. Well, maybe not for these students. Going into an unknown door? Definitely a way to stir up some trouble. Is it still considered bad if you're stuck in another world? Good grief... I hope not.
Positives: Very creative! Nice little animation.
Improvements: I would like to have seen some mouth animation to make it really work.
Positives: This was a wonderfully ambitious and quirky short. I love all the thinking and choices that went into it. I also love that you chose to enter such an iconic animated world rather than a less familiar one. Nice walk cycles! This was one of my favorites ;) Having done a lot of work in animation, I really admire how much work that went into it.
Improvements: Really good stuff here but here's a few notes to consider -- Though the score did the work to establish time of year, maybe a a few more school Christmas decorations in the BG would've driven it home. I so wish the live action door and the animated door matched better in terms of the way it swung open. Okay, not really sure how to articulate this final note but I wanted more! The short just kind of ended, which made narrative feel incomplete. I wanted some kind of pay-off that left me feeling more satisfied. With that said - this was a great little short that really engaged me as a viewer and made me look at it with more critical and professional eye (that's a really good thing!)
Positives: Nice insertion of dialog over bed music....nice voiceovers--very clever and well done
Improvements: Music in the middle was out of place--edit into and out of it was disconcerting
