A promotion for the Neuqua Valley High School media department
Positives: Story - The concept of looping the story is a solid hook. It sits in the memory far more than the information, and hi lights, the result of the education to prospects. Well done. Camera - The follow is good. The snap pans to cover cuts, though a technique that could be polished, line up well. Editing - Though unpolished, appropriate techniques were employed to convince the viewer of a single shot.
Improvements: Story - A bit odd to tell me there's never a dull moment while several folks in the background are disinterestedly staring at their phones. Control your environment. Lighting - There doesn't appear to be much attention to lighting. Different speakers are lit differently. The opening speaker and the reporter walk through several lighting conditions, which is fine considering the move, but none of the conditions should be bad, particularly for the reported. Editing - The louder environments should be used as a room-tone bed so it isn't jarring when the audio calls out the hidden cut. Camera - Watch your head room. Follow focus will get there, but sometimes another take is necessary to get it right. Sound - Get room tone or presence at each location. To convince the viewer of single shot, you must have consistent audio. This means same mics and techniques for recording, as well.
