A short video that is comprised of veterans at the annual veterans day assembly paired with heartfelt music.

  • 3/13 11:15 am - Music bed is appropriate, but ends abruptly.
  • 3/13 11:15 am - Smooth camera movement; could have used a bit more shot variety, some ease-outs to include more of the environment, or ease-ins to add a bit of variety to the close-up shots
  • 3/13 11:14 am - Great montage of the faces, the PEOPLE that were honored for Veteran's Day; clip at 1:05 is flipped, the text is backwards.
  • 3/12 11:40 am - Very emotional and powerful. I love the close ups I think it really adds to the emotion in the video.
  • 3/12 9:19 am - This is a nice take on an event that defines part of the culture of your school, I like that this is different than other submissions. The way that it's sequenced is good. Not to fast, not too slow-- just right. The closeups work really well for this. We can really see the veterans and take away some emotion from the piece.
  • 2/28 8:59 am - Great idea for a segment. Good use of slowed down clips with the flags and shots of all the veterans. It might improved with a voiceover or audio from interviews with the veterans. Overall a very powerful segment.
Judge 1

Positives: Camera - shots are properly exposed. Composition is fine in each.

Improvements: Editing - If you're going to flip an image, try not to allow text in that image. Several hats indicated which branch folks served with. Also, a name tag. The text was backwards. It stands out. The viewer is then on lookout for this, not focusing on the message. - Used the same image twice. Story - Shots of veterans is fine, but I'm not clear on what the event is, where, or administered by whom. Camera - though each shot is fine, there is not much variety in composition. This is not to stay shots should vary stylistically, just more framing options.

Improvements: Would have been nice to see a few wide shots to show what the whole event was about. Was obvious that some scenes were flipped could tell from their hats.
