  • 3/1 7:19 pm - Story: I watched it a few times and don’t really get the premise. He gets stuck in some VR game or world or something, but I don’t get who the “you” is that comes along. And it seems to me that the plot of the movie hinges on what happens next. Is it supposed to be a movie about escaping from VR? Escaping from whoever it is that is in the VR game? Is it just about going insane? I don’t think the story aspect works especially well. Camera: Some good stuff here. I like the opening shot of him playing the game. The chainsaw stuff is pretty effective too. It’s hard to evaluate the shots of your hero because were just looking at a kid in a VR headset. But I like the swish pan at the top around to the friend. And good insert shots of the plug getting kicked. Well shot. Lighting: Solid work here. Sound: Most of your sound is excellent, in my opinion. All of the video game sounds are great, match your visuals, and are adjusted well. Levels are consistently well adjusted throughout. Music tracks are appropriate and set the tone well. Editing: Good work here as well. The middle feels a little disjointed as we jump from game to game, but it generally flows well, and I find your editing very polished. Impressive. Final thoughts: As a whole, it leaves me a little empty because I don’t really get the concept of the story. So, in that sense, I don’t find it an effective trailer because it doesn’t actually make me want to see the movie. But that doesn’t take away from all the other strong work you have here.
