Entry Description

Live to tape production aired once a week to the school. The purpose of the Friday Focus is to communicate announcements that pertain to that week at the school, and provide a couple of timely News Stories that are relevant to the student body as well as the Mundelein Community. All aspects of the production/stories are put together by the same 8 students generally once a week (there are only 8 students in this level course).

Recent Teacher Comments

• 3/8 1:35 pm - Good example of a school newscast. Anchors dressed professionally, they read well, and look confident. Watch what you do after you are done reading a story. At the end of FBLA story, the anchor leans back before the camera switches. Packages well done.
• 3/8 9:44 am - Fun, lighthearted show with interesting segments. Some good anchor work/energy. As anchors, focus on your audience. Don't let your eyes bounce around. Stay out of each other's solo shots. Audio is good throughout. Segments are well-produced and have the feel of a news magazine or blog rather than a newscast. Don't have your subjects hold the microphone. Hold it for them or use a lav.
