Entry Description

This is a movie trailer created for class. We decided to use our school as a backdrop to a horror film which involved students regretting breaking into the school after hours.

  • 4/25 1:26 pm - The human-voiced cliche suspense soundtrack is very funny and creates a feeling of parody. This is the only element that comes off as a farce. The trailer progresses and the only plot points revealed are shady details of a recounting of an incident. The rest of the questions a viewer might want answered in order to decide if they want to see the film are not answered. The low light is consistent throughout and does well to adhere to the horror/suspense genre, but creates video noise and, most notable, focus problems. The amount of shots with no point of sharp focus becomes very distracting. The hazy plot description would have played better if the overall production value was higher.
  • 3/9 1:19 pm - Good use to lighting. I love how you showed the hallway and turned lights off and really committed to transforming it into a horror film set. I was waiting on a jump factor and I almost think that would really make the trailer- maybe think about adding something shocking after the "teenage wasteland" credits come up.
