  • 3/13 11:01 am - The depressed actor looks too happy when anticipating telling a friend at :08. This would be an anxious/tense time, daring to share something like depression. The mood looks 'happy' at :15, which makes it look like an easy fix. Some framing issues with headroom. VO is clear and balanced with the music bed.
  • 3/13 11:01 am - Good message, but the story seems over-simplified. The story sequence needs work. Nice opening sequence that shows a progression of the subject from happy to depressed, including lighting/color tones that support that mood. Nice touch with the moving text in the final sequence, that drops below the Suicide Prevention info
  • 3/12 10:28 pm - Positives: The opening images were interesting and I liked that you slowly changed the coloring from warm to cool to indicate a subtle change in mood. The music was interesting and helped push the pace of the piece. The shots were well composed and framed. The change of music after the two girls embrace was a nice touch. You listed organization at the end of the piece was good as all PSAs need to provide an organization to their audience so people can get more information or help. Improvements: This PSA did not effectively introduce the problem of depression. I cannot really tell that the girl in the PSA is depressed. There is no impactful introduction of a problem. The voice over is great, but why wasn't is used consistently throughout the piece? I also think you needed to state "If someone you know is at risk for depression." Again, because the problem in the PSA wasn't effectively introduced, you need to say depression multiple times so people understand the message.
