  • 4/18 10:13 am - Very great directions that were explained well. The VO was was clean and the background music levels were right. Try to come up with a creative way to secure the tripod and bowl for cleaner jump cuts. Simple text graphics with ingredient amounts during the pan at the beginning would have been helpful in following along with the recipe. A final product shot of the muffins out of the pan on a dish could have made the ending not seem so abrupt.
  • 3/12 10:25 am - Might help to have graphics with ingredient amounts. I like the music, and the voice and script are nice and clear. The whisking took a bit too long. Nice bit with the focus at the beginning. Nice jump cuts of the muffin tin. Ends abruptly. Nice job with this type of video. A next step would be to consider ways to add more personal elements, but that is not necessary here.

  • 3/5 3:36 pm - Keepers: Good step-by-step of your process. The directions were clearly explained and I felt like I could watch this and replicate the final product. Good job keeping your workspace clean and well lit. Your final product was attractive. Improvements: Be careful with your rack focusing. It worked well in your introduction, but it was distracting during your listing of ingredients. Your opening shot was a bit shaky and that was distracting, especially since it was your title sequence. Watch your diction and delivery during your voice over. It was a clean recording but your enunciation during delivery was muddy in places. The music worked fine for the demonstration, but it was mixed a bit too high and this made its redundancy distracting.
  • 3/5 2:22 pm - what works: delicious product, looks very good out of oven; clean voice over recording; good close up shots of steps; effective intro to demo; nice job keeping extraneous items out of frame. what would make it better: ingredients displayed clearer or at least in order; lock down tripod for cleaner jump cuts; audio mix-lower level on music; describe techniques, such as 'fold' in ingredient; ends too abruptly, without showing cooling step or final plating of muffin for serving.

Positives: Script was well written and clear regarding the process. Camera work followed action and was easy for viewer to see demo.

Improvements: Hard to clearly hear the narration. Narrative spoke to quickly and record to softly. Some jump cuts in editing.

Positives: I appreciated that preheating the oven was part of the plan as well as showing all the ingredients. The steps were easy to follow.

Improvements: The ingredients in the opening shot were a little fuzzy and there were several jump cuts. Either exploit them or clean them up. I found the music grated after a while. I am sure these are delicious but I didn't see it or feel it from the lighting or the camera work.

Positives: The opening panning move is very effective. I also liked the jump cuts you used as you were filling the bowl with ingregients.

Improvements: This comment is both in the worked well and could be improved category. The idea of filling the muffin pan was very creative. Here are some suggestions to make it even better. Make sure the camera is on a tripod and secured so it won't move even if you accidentally bump into it. Tape the muffin pan to the counter so the tape can't be seen and the pan won't move when it is bumper. Fill the muffins almost as you did, but make sure to do them one at a time. Do the same with the chocolate chips. This would be a variation on the way you added the muffin liners at about :27. That was rock steady. The muffins look great at the end of your project. Hold on the shot longer.
