• 4/10 10:58 am - Very entertaining news package, especially since the focus became not the play itself but the logistics of the set move, something many people don’t really give a lot of attention to. Your time lapses and interviews all came off very professional and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals. I would encourage you to think about the natural sound of a play, from the actors to the backstage calls to the set-pieces coming together, there is a lot of noise and I felt your piece was just too quiet and subdued for something depicting a very visual and audible atmosphere. Overall, nice work bringing this story to life, but keep working on capturing and putting into your final edit those unique sounds and points of view that will put your viewer in the same room as you when you were initially capturing the footage

Judge 1

Positives: Wonderful opening animation. Well written script easy to follow. Good interviews and an interesting story.

Improvements: Interesting package and a good story, but it needed a conclusion to the package and perhaps a little piece of the show because the audience really doesn't understand what this is all about.

Judge 2

Positives: Love the time lapses! Really fantastic lighting and amazing audio on your interviews

Improvements: a variety of shots at the top could provide a little more momentum to engage your audience off the top would have loved a call to action for your audience

Positives: Second interview was shot well with the student – great background, framing was nice, good lighting, etc. Lots of great vids of the kids working on the sets and the actors practicing -- but where are the nats?? First effect off the top of the sped up video was a cool effect. I just wouldn't have used it for so long.

Improvements: Would have been great to show vids from previous plays – the fall play, the winter play, and the musical – (nat pop up) Nats of plays off top into that cool sped up effect would have worked well. There are no nats under this piece at all -- sorely missed throughout. First interview -- shouldn't have had her looking into the camera -- should look at reporter.
