  • 3/9 10:51 am - Interesting piece, touching story based out of a tattoo shop. Consider eliminating your opening/closing titles. Not sure they are needed. A few jump cuts throughout. Sometimes jump cuts are used for effect but I think in this case, it distracts. Broll shots were well shot and interesting but limited. Could this story have been developed further with other natural sounds?
  • 3/9 10:41 am - Strong start for the story with the buzzing of the needle. Good story, but you need to use more of the natural audio from the b-roll to help tell the story and break up the SOTs. Keep him mic’ed when he’s working on a customer and use that to help tell the story. There were 3 jump cuts in the video that should have been covered up. What other b-roll can you use to help tell the story? Feels like you were lacking in terms of the amount of b-roll that you shot for this story.
  • 3/6 3:54 pm - Positives - opening shots & audio of buzzing really set mood for story. story was well organized and told through sound bites. Improvements - more natural audio of the shop as the only clear sounds were the needles buzzing. Jump cut was distracting and could be covered with b roll.
  • 2/27 8:41 am - Nice use of the tattoo machine buzz in the beginning.Good b-roll and interview. Cover the jump cuts with b-roll. Background noise throughout takes away from the interview because it is loud and consistent. Might have been better to conduct the interview in a quieter place and added natural sound from the b-roll.
