Keeping Up with the Spartans is a show that features some of the unique talents, clubs, people and sports of GBN. In this episode, we looked at GBN's newest intramural sport, spikeball, a student who can memorize up to 400 digits of pi, what some students are thankful for, and two Spartans take on the bean boozled challenge. This is an abbreviated version of the show edited to meet MMEA time requirements.
Positives: Entertaining topic and the music kept the piece upbeat. It was good to see a variety of interviews and learn how the club came together. Good use of video from the club and video from the tournaments. I noticed you put a source on the video which you should always do if you did not shoot it yourself.
Improvements: At :20, you might want to put the graphics on the bottom of the screen or make them smaller. You're covering up everyone's faces. The piece was a bit long. I think you could have cut it off after the coach was talking about having fun
Positives: Outdoor interviews look good. Camera work is good. Not a big sports fan, so it was interesting to hear about spike ball. The narrator, Ethan Levy, has a pleasant voice. He gives the copy a good read.
Improvements: There's a bad edit when Aaron's soundbite begins. It's up cut. Same problem at 2:14. Edits need finessing. Poor lighting on the female talent at the end of the segment.
