  • 4/26 2:07 pm - Great use of her artwork. I like the audio choice, gritty like her art. I would’ve liked to have met the artist sooner. I don’t see her until 1:15 and am not introduced to her until there’s 15 seconds left to the story. Good, clean audio on her interview. Again, love her artwork and the great depth/variety you showed within the story. Amazing artist – I would buy some of her work!
  • 4/10 1:33 pm - Great visual storytelling. Great use of the incredible art from various mediums. The only issue is not getting an establishing full shot of the storyteller from the beginning to provide context to who is talking. I know you were working towards a big reveal but the awkward side angle doesn’t give her justice as a highly respectable artist. The audio was well cut and doesn’t feel forced, yet quite introspective- excellent job

Positives: I loved the story content... The quality of sound, tone and cadence along with the conversational style of the narrative gave me an opportunity to "get to know the artist". I like the fact that you waited to reveal the artist and shot her from a perspective... It works with her narrative of being shy and in the background.

Improvements: I would have liked to see the artist in more of her environment and not just at her desk. This would help the viewer identify with her even more and give a more 3 dimensional perspective. I get where you were going with speeding up the footage... I feel it fell a little short of what you were going for (as if it were a decision made in post) A wider shot along with some visual effects such as motion blur and the camera locked down.

Positives: Nice to discuss the artist's vulnerability. Great movements on the images.

Improvements: Would have liked to see more of the artists speaking on camera. At times the song was distracting as a background choice rather than instrumental music.

Positives: The voice over is engaging and well-edited. The artist shying away from attention, particularly because her work is compelling, is an important twist and something the audience will connect with. I appreciated the choice to not show her immediately and let the audience connect with her through her artwork.

Improvements: The music competes with the voice over and I recommend replacing or remixing it. Think about how sound design or more abstract sounds could perform a similar function. I really wanted to see a confrontational shot of the artist looking directly into the camera at the end, without speaking.
