  • 3/9 9:03 am - This is not an anchor-based newscast, this is a news magazine. The anchors do not read any stories, they just introduce the packages. The audio is pretty good in this. It would be nice to mic the two anchors so you get the same clean sound that you hear in the segments. Basketball segment-hold mic so the interviewee does not have to bend over and use your hand closest to the guest to hold the mic. Jumpcut in BB segment, should start b-roll a little earlier. In the play segment, why are the interviews in black and white. usually when something like this is done in a news program it is to hide some sort of technical issue with the original footage. Other than that the segment is well done. Lots of good b-roll.
  • 3/8 1:08 pm - Fun opening (and nod to "Friends"). On-air talent...consider professional dress. Sound is a little thin in the studio. Sounds like an OH mic that is a little too far away. First segment, reporter should feel comfortable being close to your interview subjects. In a couple of places it looks as though you are intentionally trying to angle away. Often, this is an awkward setting but you have to push through so that awkwardness doesn't project to the audience. Coming back from segments...a little too much black and then abrupt cut to anchors/audio. Listen for audio "pops and hisses." Some nice videography at times...sports, in particular.

Positives: Cute open! Thought it was fun and playful and I'm a "Friends" fan Really loved the package about the Special Olympics basketball team. The interviews were nicely done and I think it's awesome your school has a team! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - liked that you used the music throughout the piece. I also noticed how the interviews were in black and white and the performances were in color. I would've shortened the piece and at the end, I would've put up a graphic with the dates, time, location and a much shorter ticket link than the one you shared. Nice job on the last piece about making 2018 your year.

Improvements: Please see above

Positives: Your graphics and music were well selected and supported your program. Good coverage of the theatre piece, well done.

Improvements: Audio levels seemed to go up and down from piece to piece. Had of few jump cuts in editing. Microphone use needs some improvement on remote anchor shots.
