  • 3/11 8:08 pm - I liked the story as you arrive and workout and then leave...story is basic but is easily understood that it's about working out...music is outstanding and I loved the variety of shots and angles
  • 3/9 12:12 pm - Overall story lacked a narrative. It was a man working out without any real motivation for the narrative to be pushed forward. Not sure if the product was the brand, the shoe, the clothes, the lifestyle. I’d clear that up. Sound lacked a complete mix. Working out comes with so many unique sounds (grunts, weights clanging, feet jumping, etc) that only having music hurts the overall emotion of the final cut. Cinematically it looked great. I like the choice of a higher frame rate for this piece and the subtle lighting added to the tone of the overall commercial. Shots were composed well and exposed perfectly. I also like the “whip/zoom” transition although you relied on it too much to drive the narrative. Editing was to the music and added to the feel.
  • 3/5 1:41 pm - Strengths: -Great shot diversity -Nice use of transitions -Music is effective and fits the tone -Good editing pace -I really like the ending where the lights go off (nice use of sound effect) and we transition to the logo--nice work! Room for Improvement: -My only suggestion would be to potentially add the "just do it" slogan

Positives: 1. Great camera movement and camera angles- awesome shots. 2. Really enjoyed the editing, the pacing and the lighting fx. Great product commercial

Improvements: 1. I would have liked to seen a wider establishing shot, giving the commercial a larger scale. 2. I would have liked to see the music start up with the lights turning on, a slow build musically. Since the end of the commercial is in sync, the bringing would have been a nice too.

Positives: Love the song choice. There are some areas in the edit where the camera work syncs up really nicely with the track and creates a good level of energy.

Improvements: It felt like the "story" cut off abruptly. I'm also not sure how this is promoting Nike brand in particular, vs. any other athletic brand, or just working out in general.

Positives: i liked the energy of the cuts and transition between the workout shots. the animation at the end was well done the little lighting cues were a cool idea...coming in, going out

Improvements: energy lost at :19....the last ten seconds could've really driven the message home, instead kinda fizzled out. some kind of message at the end with the Nike logo? Not sure what I'm supposed to understand about what I just watched..."work hard", "just do it", "in and out", ?? Music was cool, but not sure it told a story, especially with the walking in and walking out taking about 15-16 seconds of the spot
