Tensions are mounting in this comedy about a lonely dog's escapade to the park.

4/24 5:31 pm - Interesting idea. I liked the images depicting the dog's imagination.

The pan to the dog to introduce the song worked well. The movement in the low-angle POV for the dog is what sells it. Good work on that. I liked the fade to the jazzy version of the song for the change in atmosphere, but it would be smoother if it faded to the same line of lyrics in the second version.
One channel audio on the voice at the beginning was distracting because there didn't seem to be a reason for it. At the end, the line "running around with my Betsey..." was accurate, but implied something more intimate that wasn't suggested in the dog park scenes. Maybe a shot of the dogs muzzle to muzzle would have given the line more depth. There's also an opportunity at the end to resolve the conflict in a funny way instead of just ending there.
3/5 1:58 pm - Cool concept of making the dog the hero of the story. You explored some cool ideas as well, like the dog’s point of view. Maybe you could use a wider lens or a fish eye, but the black & white and low angle was enough to convey the concept. The music fit the storyline pretty well.
The stick figure thing didn’t really work; I know it was supposed to convey the dog’s imagination or dreams, but it was kind of a break in the style.
The encounter with the other dog owner was poorly lit and out of focus. Not to mention the audio levels were really hot.
The last 33 seconds were just titles and credits. Completely unnecessary for an entry into the video festival.
Last but not least, adding the titles “Spay and Neuter Your Dogs” made this feel more like a funny PSA than an original comedic narrative short film.
