  • 3/11 9:04 pm - Everyting about this commercial works...great set-up, great humor, great music and great information about the product and where to get it ..nice job
  • 3/9 12:14 pm - I like the humor of the piece in that is uses comedy to sell popcorn for a fundraising event. The music was fitting for for the tone of the commercial and I appreciate the subtle sound effects that were used throughout. I like that you also use the “camera as a brush” and as a tool to be funny. The composition of many of the shots had an Edgar Wright style to them that added to the humor of the piece. Cinematically this looked clear, crisp, and clean. Well done. Editing also enhanced the funny of the composition without distracting the flow.
  • 3/5 8:45 pm - -I appreciate the humor of this piece. The pace moves quickly which works well for the humor as well as getting as much information and jokes across as possible in a short amount of time. -The student "interviews" about the popcorn are nicely lit in the foreground. I would consider adding a light to the background. I Also think this would be more effective if it was filmed in a lunchroom rather than what appears to be a library. Remember, the background helps tell your story too. -The final graphic with information about how to order the popcorn could be more exciting or eye catching. You clearly get all of the information across, but the text is very basic. -I understand that the commercial is silly in nature, but when the mic hits the one student in the head it seems out of place. We have not been exposed to the filming crew prior to this, so it seems random. -The first speaker is clearly reading the information off of some sort of teleprompter or sign

Positives: 1. Good editing and storytelling and shift in music. 2. Good interviews, dialog and sound bites.

Improvements: 1. I would have liked to see an establishing shot of the popcorn machine, not just the close ups. 2. I also would have liked to learn more about Ezra Poppins

Positives: Cute spot with a positive tone - sells not only on the affordable, fresh popcorn, but where to get it, and how to order for a whole class. Like the absurd touches with the boom mike, pot sticker price comparison and calling popcorn "enlightening". Silly, but fun.

Improvements: It would be helpful to know which charity this is for. The high school in general? A nice close up of popcorn popping (maybe in slow motion?) would add appetite appeal.
