Entry Description

This is a compilation of experiences from a trip to the Galapagos Islands. I expected to shoot a lot of video, but I was shocked at how many opportunities I had to get shots of nature and animals. I used a variety of lenses and cameras to capture these moments.

  • 4/12 2:43 pm - Nice vacation video with a variety of animals but the use of light (and need for color matching/correction) pacing and diversity of composition towards the end was lacking.
  • 3/31 5:58 pm - Camera: -Could benefit from more diverse camera shots. They are mostly wides. -Your movements were a little shaky, so practice stabilizing your camera with a tripod and the making smooth movements. -Your movements often show that you are chasing the animals--which you are--but it's tough to get nice pans and tilts when you can't really plan for it. Lighting: -Lighting is BRIGHT. You need to adjust camera settings to accommodate or get get a ND filter. Editing: -The opening font is great!
  • 2/28 5:27 pm - I think you picked a very hard environment to film in. Unfiltered sun is harsh: footage looks overexposed and "burnt." I would love to see you use a tripod: handholding is very difficult and its takes a long time to learn how to do it well.
