  • 3/4 8:33 am - Story: On a general level, this is clear. Star Wars themed Lego movie- action adventure. It might have been cool to get more specific than that. (You may have established a more specific storyline than that with your V.O. but your levels are so low that I literally couldn’t hear any of it.) Camera: Bottom line: Your stop motion work is pretty amazing. It flows well. Lighting and focus is good. Cool After Effects (or whatever) laser blasts. I don’t even know how you shot the stuff in mid-air. Cool camera moves. It must have taken forever to shoot. Very impressive job. Lighting: Really nice and consistent throughout. Sound: Significant problems here. I couldn’t hear the V.O. at all. Your laser blast sound FX are super loud. I didn’t initially like your music track, but it eventually becomes appropriately epic. Editing: I think you could have included title cards or something to give it more polish as a trailer. Final thoughts: Very impressive stop motion work. Attention to detail in other areas could make this amazing.

Positives: Clearly took a lot of time to make this, which shows. I like the clever approach to the story using Legos and stop-motion. The special effects and sound effects really made the video.

Improvements: The voice over is hard to hear; maybe lower the background track. Also, add some transition or cuts between scenes. Overall, very cool video.

Positives: Impressive stop motion. Very well thought-out and planned – it takes very special skill! High points to the editing category.

Improvements: The sound could be improved quite a bit – the dialogue levels need to be raised significantly, and the sound effects for weapons and movement need fine-tuning. While the animation is impressive, try utilizing some small camera moves while animating to help with the storytelling and character perspective.
