  • 4/26 2:08 pm - Jump cuts throughout your interviews – use broll to hide those. Great inside detail of you produced your trailer. You leave me wanting to see this trailer so kudos to you on pulling off what you intended to do…draw an audience.
  • 4/10 1:32 pm - Great behind the scenese doc with a lot of broll that helped show rather than just tell the story. The audio jump cuts were really distracting, but the overall context shared was really interesting and served the purpose well- nice job.

Positives: The making of Doc is a great subject. I liked the multiple perspectives from the crew. The use of BTS footage was good as well as interviews in studio.

Improvements: Although the concept was great, there were a few things I would point out that would have made this all work. The jump cuts in the interview were very distracting and could have been covered with b roll of a second camera. Multiple times the audio under broll was very choppy At 1:24 in, while talking about the focus on editing and perfection, there was a flash frame. All of these elements could have been addressed before this was released or turned in.

Positives: Cinematography and sound were very well done.

Improvements: More music and sound effects could have helped. The narrative structure could be improved.

Positives: The camera work including the framing and lighting for the interviews is beautifully done. It definitely showcases the strength of the original work. The interviews were conducted professionally and the speakers had insights and personal stories that made them enjoyable to listen to.

Improvements: For the next film project, take the high quality of the production and link it to a universal story. This film has a very specific audience and it’s clear that the filmmaker could use those skills to develop other ideas for a broader audience. I missed an end credit of who made the film and who spoke in the film.
