A boy who has a special gift his mom overlooks
Positives: All of your actors were great! They worked well as individuals but also when acting in scenes together. They all had solid performances - none of them felt cheesy or over the top. Your story had great plotpoints, and did a wonderful job at revealing information. Nothing felt overly explanatory and you did a great job of showing us, not telling us. You also did a great job of using camerawork and lighting to your advantage to help telling the story. The last scene is incredibly well done and has its own sense of style to fit the emotion of the characters. It also took me a second to realize that they piano keys were how you utilized the prop of a key! Super original. I love it.
Improvements: I can't even think of anything to nitpick right now.
Positives: Great use of available lighting in some of the scenes in the house. And very innovative use of lighting in the last scene. Most of the film was well shot. The story was clear and it was well told.
Improvements: Some roles were well acted while others didn't. The mother was not convincing, but not just due to her acting, rather to her role being poorly written - a lot of expositional dialogue and not subtle at all. I suggest the director to look into film that use visual storytelling rather than dialogue-based. The editing in the last scene needs improvement. It's very clear that the music is not matching his hands.
