  • 4/25 11:04 am - Great editing job. Composition well done. Could have used color grading. Funny homage to the Breakfast Club.
  • 4/24 5:30 pm - Good performances by the actors. Camera work is well done. Audio hiss is heard throughout the video.
  • 3/14 6:42 am - Camera movements in the opening shots were good, though cut too quickly. It might help to continue that camera movement into the first table shot, for continuity (unless you are going for that old school Seinfeld look, cutting from grainy reality intro to an obvious set). Camera movement in the imagined scene recalls the opening shots nicely. I can see this as a satire of the creative process, going from having no brainstorming to "It has to be original" and into the cliché Breakfast Club, with the Power Ranger misdirection. To sell it, though, you should build up a little slower from the initial high school setting through a back and forth between characters that would lead to the detention premise (with the characters getting more excited as they go).
  • 3/5 1:06 pm - Sound is the most important part of your video. Right off the bat, your sound is dirty; too much ambient hiss coming through, and the dialogue levels are too hot. Either you recorded low levels and over-boosted them in post, or you recorded decent levels but you had a lot of hiss. The music bed during their brainstorming session is too loud in the mix; dialogue should be between -6 and -12 on the VU meter, sound effects, should be between -15 and -21, and music beds DURING dialogue should be between -18 and -24. Camera shots were pretty limited; pretty typical combination of wide, OTS, and close ups/medium shots. The shots during the brainstorming session were creative, as were the edits that matched the brainstorming session to their real setting. The story wasn’t very substantial. It didn’t really have a strong or clear hook or any comedic value.
