3/13 10:26 am - Inspiring idea. You needed more shots. Be sure to get camera equipment out of the shot. Next time think of ways to transition between different shots rather than dipping to black. Give us more of a story. Give us more of a variety of shots and locations In many music videos, we see new shots every 1-4 seconds.
3/2 4:27 pm - Inspiring song and idea for the video. Technically, the video had some issues. The pacing of the video was very slow, which was cause mainly by the infrequent amount of cuts made during the song. Each shot you had on stayed on for way too long- your cuts should match the song and keep pace with it. There were times the camera's shot stayed on so long we saw it zoom, or shake, or both. Try using multiple cameras, or one camera but shooting the same scene multiple times to get new and better angles. You have to watch your angles- a number of times the singer would turn away from the camera to look at someone and we lost track of her face and lips and could not see the singing. The singing disappeared for the middle portion of the video- be consistent with singing/story throughout. Be careful about headroom and make sure every shot you get has a purpose. Also watch when movement begins, as we saw the actors run into your cameraman in one scene. As for the acting, it was ok. The main singer really got into it, but one dancer in particular looked less than enthusiastic to be in the video, which caused many of the movements to be off and unsynced. Again, look for more camera angles in the dance scenes to add some variety. The video begins with a "talking scene" but the audio is so poor we can't hear what the people are saying. Audio is so important when there is conversation, so make sure each speaker is mic-ed up for clear sound. There are also a number of audio jump cuts at the beginning of the song- like the song was pieced together- lots of credibility lost when the audio is poor. The video just ends abruptly- make sure there is a distinct ending and have the music fade out so we know it's the end. Some of your sets looks nice, and the back lighting was a nice touch. Keep working at it!!
