Entry Description

We created this news package to showcase the talents and successes of Teams Elite, a prominent competitive synchronized skating team based in Northbrook. We spent time attending the practices of this team to understand and demonstrate all the work that they put in to this sport.

  • 4/23 7:04 am - Add something to the end, such as “good luck” or “we wish the team well” - helps to wrap up the story. Overall, a good story. Good interviews. The shot for one of them was a bit too wide. Good b-roll. A couple of the b-roll shots did not have natural audio - be sure to always record the natural audio and use it in the story.
Judge 1

Positives: -This was a really solid piece!! Way to go! -The shot variation was awesome. Way to get super creative and use different tools to do that. It made the story engaging and it had a great pace and flow. -The writing was also on point. -Good mix of interviews, including interview locations and framing. -Awesome ending shot, it pulled the whole piece together.

Improvements: -There were some missed opportunities for sequences here. Skating has a lot of repeated action that makes for really great sequences. -I would've used some even more nat pops! When we see the girls clapping, it'd be even better to hear it too.
