A short promo for Wheaton North's 2018 fall play, Metamorphoses.
Positives: -Like the edge lighting, given the mood I'm picking up on. -Good use of lights in shots. -Music and sound mixed very well -The "fight" sound in particular as the scene picks up - Camera moves share the same energy as the scene. -Picture dips with thunder: such a small, subtle choice likely had the greatest impact on how this felt. Particularly for viewers who don't consciously note it. -steady build in pace, hold, payoff. The simplest concepts can make the viewer wonder most.
Improvements: --The shots where there is more light illuminating faces: Iris down - fight for the edge feel.
Positives: the use of black and white with shadows was interesting use of camera angles helped to convey dramatic action
Improvements: unsure what the play is about - need a narrative voice underneath or short scene to convey why I should see this play unclear what the piece is about - if promoting play or just an "artistic" rendering for "artistic" sake
Positives: Excellent music and cutting between scenes. But, what is the play about? You have caught my interest.
Improvements: I know it is a black-box theater production, but maybe a little more light. Depending on the device, wouldn't be able to see much.
