  • 4/25 9:48 pm - Anchors have a good energy. It may have been my computer but audio levels from anchors to show intro music jumped. Push the overall level of the anchors audio. Nice interaction between anchors. Geneva/Batavia segment has some nice camera work. Balance audio. Consider composing shots of subjects you interview in front of action behind them rather than a static wall. Another jump in audio levels from anchors to Monarch butterfly interview. A nice balance of stories.
  • 4/25 2:23 pm - Good intro by anchors You don’t need to tell your viewers to listen up (FEA). Not sure why anchors have to turn the sheet of paper after each story. Nice interaction between anchors and good energy. Batavia vs. Geneva - interviews audio is low. Good variety of b-roll. Ms. Owens - Why in the hallway for the interview? Audio was higher than rest of show. Was part cut out between Activity Fair and 3 Things to Know? Transition was rough.

Positives: Visually it was a nice swim package with good use of b roll. Anchors did a good job

Improvements: Nat sound in packages is uneven. Sound bites are low. Late cuts between cameras. It would be nice to be able to cut from an OTS to the other anchor without first losing the graphic.

Positives: - Your open for the show is terrific. I love the drone shots, the usage of natural sound and it just makes me feel like I'm a part of your school. That is really well done! - I like that your producer wasn't afraid to utilize graphics and different camera shots. Also, the swimming story is well done. Great natural sound, different shots, good interviews.

Improvements: - Try to use your interview backdrop as another way to tell your story. It's easy to just have your subject stand in front of the wall, but it's a much more engaging shot to have them in focus with depth of field to provide some sort of background. The pool would have provided that. - There's "dead time" between your stories. That would be a good place to utilize some transitions and/or video to smooth that awkward pause.

Positives: Nice enthusiasm and delivery from the anchors. Strong editing in video open (although it was a little heavy on the sports highlights..would like to see more variety from school events)

Improvements: Transitions between anchor reads could be much smoother. There were several awkward pauses and moments where the graphics drop out early. Audio in the sports package was all over the place. Levels need to be consistent and audio dissolves would help the rough spots.
