In Quinn Cassell's original song "If You Need Me", We follow Quinn around in the city as he performs his upbeat song. Throughout his adventure, he locks eyes with a girl and their romance begins.
Positives: Camera work is generally well done. Convincing performances. Good variety in locations and shots.
Improvements: The narrative needed better structuring, maybe more coverage. The boy meets girl plot felt more like an afterthought, and could have been re-edited so that there was a hook early on in the video, and possibly a chase, or a series of missed encounters.
Positives: Fun song! And I like that it's an original. Points for that. The mood of the song was definitely represented with the visuals in the video. The story was really easy to follow and for this particular project that worked really well. No major surprises but there didn't really need to be.
Improvements: The sync could have been cleaner with the strums of the guitar and the mouthing of the vocals. Tiny bits here and there but enough to distract. The editing stuck to the main elements pretty exclusively but I think you might have benefitted from more B roll. More shots of the city or from different interesting angles. Keep the viewer engaged by keeping them supplied with supplemental visual info! Overall, great job!
Positives: Great original track! I love the break in the song for her line, too.
Improvements: Though there is some good shot variety, there could be more. I noticed a few sync issues with the guitar performance, especially. Shooting some angles of the performer that don't show the guitar can help to cut around these.
