- 4/25 8:16 pm - Really interesting story and very cool concept for students who need a place to after school whose parents might not be able to afford something else. Great balance of adult and student interviews. visually I wish you conducted the interviews in multiple places just to vary the looks because all of the interviews are in the same spot. Good job with the B-Roll and telling us what the leadershop does for kids and why the people who work or volunteer there do what they do. Very compelling story.
- 4/22 3:07 pm - Great story idea- a fantastic and worthy topic- great selection. The opening title sequence was distracting, would love to match the broll with specific narrative around getting their challenges heard. Great job getting a wide variety of volunteer interviews. The exposure difference between the interviews and the flat broll is distracting. The low angle of the interview with the taller interviewees makes the eye line difficult. The end sequence where he is clearly reading the mission-vision would benefit from a more natural take.
- 4/20 1:55 pm - Unable to hear all audio for this piece.
- 3/5 1:37 pm - Positives:
Great job covering all perspectives of the story; B-roll and interviews work well together--your interview subjects were great! Very interesting story!
Areas for improvement:
Audio balance and transition issue at :38. Title of the piece is not visually distinguishable from the credits that preceed it (unusual placement), and are a bit tough to read. Ending is just a bit abrupt.

Positives: ?
Improvements: The Leadershop is a great resource for a lot of people - I think the focus needed to be greatly narrowed to really make me feel something special about The Center.
A singular focus concept where a parent relies on the Leadershop, how it helps their child and how a relationship with one of the volunteers has made a real difference in the child's life, the volunteer's life etc.
Many times less is more. Finding three compelling people is always more effective than finding a bunch of people to say why they like something.

Positives: The lead subject is passionate and that is captured well in this story.
His story is worth telling.
Improvements: The movie is dark. There should have been more lighting during the interviews. Has this been color graded?
The music can be more integral to the storytelling. This score functions more like wallpaper and it can be more.

Positives: Excellent use of interviewing numerous people to obtain different perspectives. The story is very inspirational.
Improvements: Opening credits could have just been the title and the others at the end of the film. It would have been nice to see some lock down camera shots of the kids in the shops but it is also understood that those shots are filmed ont he fly.
