  • 4/25 8:29 pm - Fascinating subject matter and very well done. Interview audio was inconsistent but the story and visuals were terrific.
  • 4/22 3:21 pm - Please make sure you give full credit to whole group as this was part of the Chicago Summer Stories program which represented multiple schools.
  • 4/20 2:54 pm - +Great coverage. You have a lot of artists featured +Technically exceptional except from audio in one interview +Great graphics--way to add to the style of the piece +Inspiring to see so many young people being creative and passionate about what they do -audio for the first girl is out of sync at one point
  • 3/5 2:03 pm - Positives: Great story! Interesting camera movement and framing--creates energy that matches the story without being distracting; Areas for improvement: Inconsistent interview audio (Kim).

Positives: I liked the camera work and use of natural light. Felt to be in tune with the vibe of the piece. Editing - specifically the graphics work was also very well done and directly in tune with the vibe of this piece.

Improvements: I do not believe the central theme of this story is clear. I understand there are sub themes and those are well nice small vignettes, but what is the larger message? I think if the larger message was a common thread throughout all of the sub themes then this piece would have received a much higher score.

Positives: The imagery is colorful! The colors pop so well. The editing of many different types of assets is handled well.

Improvements: The sound levels are inconsistent. An overall compressor or limiter is critical. 2:01 is particularly inconsistent. The dialogue needs noise reduction and editing. When someone stumbles overhear words in a recording and they are not on screen, you can edit to clean it up. How are all of these people connected? What brings them together in this film? Can we find this out earlier in the movie?

Positives: The theme of inspiration is great. The clarity of the shots is amazing.

Improvements: The audio on one of the interviews (Kim Products) should have had a shotgun mic or lapel mic as it stands out from the others, if this audio was better it could have been a perfect film. Some of the interview shots could have been framed a bit better compositionally.
