• 4/26 6:59 am - I love the concept of what you were trying to do. You had some very great story telling shots, and the actors were able to convey the story without getting cheesy. However there still were some parts I would have made more obvious for your audience. Were both girls in on playing a trick with the homeless person? Did their friendship sour and it was a coincidence they ended up at the parlor at the same time? If they really learned their lesson why didn’t they join/sit with the homeless guy. I loved the music and the story, was just hoping since the silent film you would have made some of those things more obvious for your audience. Because you created it, you know all the back stories, character development, etc. but I felt like I didn’t get enough clues to answer all of those questions.
• 4/25 12:41 pm - Story line wise - I thought that was executed well! When she took the money back from him it elicited a lot of angry emotions! Seriously. I thought the filming was clean, the variety of shots worked, and I loved that there was no heard dialogue. The music (which brings about sadness anytime I hear it anyway) worked with it, and if you can find royalty free music similar i think that it would still have the same effect.

Judge 1

Positives: A lot of nice camera work. I know it was handheld a lot of the time, but the movements were effective and added charm. Very reminiscent of the old silent films' sentimentality.

Improvements: The lighting was a bit lacking in some scenes. The break in the girls friendship was a bit abrupt and underdeveloped, but understandably so for a 5min film.

Positives: Nice story setup. Good use of music.

Improvements: Contrived ending. Homeless character not well cast.

Positives: This film works well as a silent film. Great music choice.

Improvements: The lighting could be improved for the exterior shots. Some of the cuts didn't seem necessary.
