  • 4/26 7:11 am - What an amazing class Great variety of broll Variety of broll Loved your introduction Watch the audio levels, girls come in very hot at the end This was one of my favorites
  • 4/26 1:08 am - 1. Great topic! I did not know high school students could participate in this type of racing. 2. I do enjoy the sound of a car accelerating quickly, and I got to hear plenty of that in your piece! 3. Some great cutaway material (b-roll). You provide the viewer with perspectives they do not usually see, 4. In some instances, the secondary audio competes with the primary audio. This makes bits of some interviews harder to hear, 5. Focus on the interviews seemed a little soft. 6. What additional b-roll material and nat sound would help reflect statements made in the interviews? For example, when the sponsor talks about how much the students learn in the shop, could the viewer see and hear some of this learning.
  • 4/23 9:00 pm - Great start to this story. The natural sound is really good, and the story flows really well. I like the framing of the interviews and the laid back nature that you create in an intense environment. Great job with the shots you use as b-roll and the in the car shots. There are some minor issues, like a jump cut, but for the most part this is a well laid out story with great information. It keeps the viewers attention the entire time.
  • 4/10 1:00 pm - You did an excellent job of incorporating interviews, b-roll and natural audio in this piece! I liked that the video started with a drag race and a couple audio testimonials. The interviews are framed nicely and the audio is clear throughout. There is a good variety of b-roll both in the car and out of the car and I personally think it could have used a few more close ups to break up the exterior wide shots. There is a flash frame at 1:04 and a jump cut(interview to interview) at 0:27 that could have easily been covered with any footage! Just make sure to scan over your videos multiple times before exporting. Overall it looks and sounds fantastic!
  • 3/10 11:33 am - :27 - JUMP-CUT. GREAT COCKPIT SHOTS. NEED AT LEAST ONE SHOT - WITH EVENT SUPERVISOR NEARBY - OF CARS COMING AT CAMERA NEAR WALL. COULD EVEN BE A LOCK-DOWN CAMERA WITH NO STUDENT NEARBY WHILE GETTING THAT SHOT(S). 1:48 AUDIO LEVEL LOWER THAN 1:50. GOOD EXECUTION OF NATSOT CONCEPTS.

Positives: I thought your interviews were framed really well using what was going on in the background Great use of a quick nat pop and interviews to start the piece You did a good job covering the interviews throughout to show us what you were talking about

Improvements: There is a flash frame between 1:03 and 1:04 of the teacher Lots of good use of nat sound but during interviews make sure the sound is under and doesn't take over what the people are saying Be mindful of your transitions between interviews. When people are sitting in the same exact spot, it looks like a jump cut

Positives: - Great camera focus with your interviews! Good visuals and weaving them together with appropriate pauses for natural sound - You let your interview tell you the story for you - especially the last bite. You walk away with a sense of feeling free because that's what was captured as they hit the race track.

Improvements: - I would let the natural sound start off the package - let it set the scene a little bit more before you throw in a soundbite. - you had a great interviews -you feel their passion not only about racing but about the community it creates. With that said, find a different background for each person you interview. It will give your story even more flow.

Positives: Loved seeing shots in the race car to get an inside look. Great nat pops to transition in-between sound bites.

Improvements: The title is unnecessary and takes time away from telling the story. Some match action sequences would be nice. For example the wide shot of someone under the hood and then show a tight shot of their hand with a tool doing work to the car.
