  • 4/25 8:03 pm - Announcers do a nice job of descibing the action and giving us a pulse in the game. Action is covered pretty well, not really sure of the purpose of using the camera on top of the backboard shot on the free throw other then to just use it, kind of jarring from an audience perspective. Some of the tight shots after baskets were very quick.
  • 4/25 1:29 pm - Good energy, really liked the camera shot behind the glass-- never see that with HS productions. Graphics are on point and look really professional. Announcers do a good job of explaining and adding to the descriptions of the action. Cut away of the ref is kind on weird.. variety of shots is nice but there wasn't any reason (controversial call, etc) to show the official at that spot?
  • 4/23 7:57 am - NICE USE OF BOARD CAM. 0:11 - WIDEN SHOT AND TILT DOWN, FEET AND LEGS SHOULDN’T BE CUT-OFF IN A BASKETBALL TELECAST. 0:27 - TILT-DOWN SO WE CAN SEE MORE OF THE HERO. NOT SURE WHY THE REF CUTAWAY. GOOD BENCH CUTAWAY.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice Audio mix, talent was modulated appropriately. Camera work was clean and smooth.

Improvements: Talent should be telling us more about what's behind what we're seeing rather than simply narrating what we're seeing.

Judge 3

Positives: Your announcers picked up on the fact that the free throw shooter was puzzled about the situation. We didn't see it because of the cut to slam cam, but that's good teamwork by the announcers to note something we didn't see. I love that you have a slam cam and cut it in for a play where it was relevant.

Improvements: The shot of the bench that starts at 55 seconds. Why is it in there? What story was it trying to convey? If there's a reason for the shot, it's certainly worth it. But, be aware that the play was happening as well. The director could get bitten if a big play happens. The announcers were sharp in what they noted about the free throw error. But, I'd challenge them to be more definitive next time. Delivering it with a questioning tone makes them seem like they're unsure as well.
