After stumbling upon the song "Now That I'm Older" I knew it held a story to be told. I had recently found a picture of my grandmother as a young woman dressed in fashionable clothes and bold makeup; I instantly knew I wanted to center this music video on her. In this story I explore the idea of recapturing one's youth, the monotony of aging life, and loss.
Positives: The concept, story and performance are fresh and compelling. The ending was wonderfully poignant.
Improvements: The execution of the video could have been more professional. Some color correction issues, as fell as progressive/interlaced video discrepancies, I think.
Positives: You keep the viewer engaged to the main character throughout. Her feelings become ours very early on. The editing makes it an easy transition. Fantastic casting! Couldn't have asked for someone to be more devoted to this role. She convinced me 100%
Improvements: It seemed a little too simple. Maybe I missed some subtext but overall I think this video keeps it's simplicity up front. The topic itself is deep but we don't really get too deep into the topic. At the end I was just confused. If you intended to confuse, and you very well may have, then bravo. But, I didn't really catch the bigger meaning if there was one.
Positives: Great performance from your actor - genuinely moving.
Improvements: The color in the graveyard scene seemed a bit wonky.
