  • 4/23 10:10 am - *Strength 1. Composition and varied camera positions/angles. You provided the viewer with a steady diet of new shots. 2. Great drone footage *Areas on which to improve: 1. The steps in your process identify what needs to be done and the order in which they need to be completed. You can strengthen your demonstration by providing more information regarding the techniques needed to complete various steps in the procedure. Could certain techniques related specifically to flying the drone be discussed? 2. Your narration also can include relevant and interesting background information related to your topic. The process alone likely will not be enough to keep the audience engaged. 3. Continue to look for creative ways to begin and end your pieces. 4. At times, pacing was a little uneven.
  • 3/12 3:32 pm - Nice changes and variety in camera angles. Voice over very clean and instructions clear and understandable. Nice choice of location. Nice that you layered the phone shot and added the blurred background. Really good video!
  • 3/4 6:43 am - The video and color look great! Music fits nicely. Clear steps, with pauses to allow material to sink in. Narrator’s voice is clear, though not always getting intonation exactly right. Seems like some steps about how to control the drone more precisely would help. The video starts with the host/narrator on camera. It might be nice for the sake of symmetry to have her return at the end.

Positives: Good narrator. Nice camera work and lighting.

Improvements: Hard to fit that much info in under 2 minutes. Script needed more detail for viewer to really understand process.

Positives: This is an informative video and makes flying a drone look easy. Your steps were clearly laid out making them easy to follow. All of the flying footage is excellent.

Improvements: There was a big shift in audio quality. The VO was very clear in the opening shots. Once the demo started the voice track sounded muffled and became difficult to understand what was being said. Consider adding more drone footage throughout the video. Maybe include in focus drone footage during the split screen sequence. You could have three clips on at the same time. Keep the center of the screen just as you have it and add different shots on either side.

Positives: Very nice job!!! 1. In such a short amount of time, you provided great, thorough information without rushing anything or trying to cram. You picked a gorgeous day to do this, as the natural sunlight made this an incredibly beautiful looking video. (sans your face slightly in shadow at the very beginning, but with natural light, not a whole lot you can do!) 2. Your audio voice-over was recorded really well and the whole thing blended together beautifully. Editing was really smooth and well done.

Improvements: 1. My advice is to keep the entire video as a voice-over. Your intro at the beginning is well done, however the background noise+way your voice is picked up....then cutting to the silent voice-over with music, is a slightly jarring switch, audio-wise. So either make the whole video via voice-over and music, or find a smooth transition between the two, that way it's not just a big audio leap. Easy/small fix! That's honestly the only critique I have here!
