  • 4/22 10:31 pm - Pros - Very strong work here. Variance in composition and environment shows a vast understanding of shooting in different conditions. Shots are well balanced, smooth, and in focus. The consistent exposure is noticed and appreciated. Cons - Has more to do with the editing; the shots should hold longer in your reel than the pieces they are from so you can showcase you shooting skills and visual storytelling prowess. Don't be afraid to mix in white light here and there when working with color gels; this will keep your shots from mudding out, especially your reds. Day exteriors can be tricky with contrast - when big grip gear is not available, color and depth can help be your greatest allies.
  • 4/14 3:27 pm - +Camera work was excellent: showed diverse range of camera shots, compositions, angles, and movements. +You have a really interesting style which I like! I can tell you are a creative thinker -Some shots may go by so fast that the viewer doesn't have time to take them in.

Positives: Nice diverse use of color in shots. Both naturalistic and more stylized Some very cool use of more experimental lens effects and overlays that gave a very unique style to everything.

Improvements: Some shots looked a bit dark and could use a bit more light or post color adjustment. Could work a bit on including some more traditional narrative style camera work including perhaps longer shots or stabilized dolly work. Not a huge deal but could be improved upon if selling yourself to prospective filmmakers.

Positives: Love the way you framed your subjects. You also had some interesting camera movements that I really enjoyed. Some of the stuff in this reel looks professional. Keep up the good work.

Improvements: Lighting is super important. Take your time, no matter how long it is, to get your shot lit correctly. The editing for this was kind of all over the place, but I’m guessing it is a composite real. Even so, editing back-and-forth between 2,3, maybe even 4 different cameras throws the viewer for a loop. It’s hard to follow. Picture consistency is very important, unless you specifically changing what you want the viewer to see. Don’t ever stop filming, you can tell that you enjoy what you do
