  • 3/8 11:07 pm - Music intro is appropriate for news show but just cuts off. No fade out. Nice, smooth camera pan. Good lighting in studio. News anchor has a serious tone. The second interview of the meme segment probably should be edited a little more. It's like she's almost questioning the interviewers question. Some audio issues in this segment. Sports anchor...get pumped. You want to do more than just read the teleprompter. Show your passion for sports. Nice job using video footage in Newsies OTS and then transition to full screen.
  • 3/3 5:21 pm - STORY: The mix of readers, packages, and B-Roll in sports was creative in the development of the program. SOUND: Meme package audio different than other audio in the production which is distracting. CAMERA: Camera work was effective and the pan to the corner graphic was perfectly executed LIGHTING: No issues TALENT: Well read and both anchors took their roles seriously
  • 2/24 12:14 pm - Pros: I appreciate the seriousness this anchor is taking these stories. Cons: Music just cuts out at the start when the anchor reads. The first two stories do not seem all the newsworthy to a high school audience. Could use video over some of these stories. Memes story just seems like a bunch of opinions, but no really underlying story or message here. Reporter narratives would have been good in this story, not just on camera. Sports anchor didn't seem excited about what is truly a fun thing to talk about.

Positives: Package was relevant to students. Good use of "newsies" footage

Improvements: News segment needed video. Talent needed to be more animated

Judge 2

Positives: Nice graphics!

Improvements: The anchor needs personality at the beginning of the show. Make me feel interested in wanting to watch the newscast. Watch your writing. I feel like your stories are written straight from press releases. Remember, you're a journalist not public relations. It's your job to make the viewer at home able to understand and relate. Maybe add video or transitions in between each story. It's hard to tell when one story ends and another one begins. The lower thirds are really hard to read. Maybe make them bigger? Or possibly don't write as much.

Positives: I think the anchor has a lot of confidence and good delivery

Improvements: It is important to chose a lead story that impacts the most viewers. I would've gone with a brand new principal at the school over the boy scout changes. You had video for it and I'm sure its big deal for the school. He would've been a great person to interview vs a pkg on memes Next time you run a story on a musical, consider adding nats to it. Instead of seeing people dancing around, it makes us feel more engaged
