Hype reel created to promote homecoming at South Elgin High School; used during live sports streaming contests throughout the fall as well as all school news broadcasts.
music obtained with paid license through: https://www.universalproductionmusic.com/en-us (formerly killertracks)
Positives: Showed broad range of activities from sports to cheerleaders to dancers - ALOT of different types of students seen Camera work was sharp and focused on the action
Improvements: Would like to have heard student voice/cheers, etc... Unsure of the "story" - was just a collection of the various elements
Positives: Good use of natural sounds in this video. I like the music and the variety of shots once the video gets going You had some great expression and emotion in this video which makes it impactful for the viewer. Creative shots and concept with the old school film projector. You do a great job of matching the beats and making quick edits that flow very well.
Improvements: I thought the start of the video was too long and slow. I wanted to jump right to the event itself. I think that this concept could have been even more effective had you used some old school footage from classes in the past, hence the homecoming portion of the video. Had you done this it would have captured the viewer's attention.
Positives: This looks like a blast! You did a great job of including exciting broll and shots that flowed really well together. Think it would be a fantastic promo for the school! Loved the way you set up the assembly and the way you used music to show the change of storytelling.
Improvements: Your camera work to get going was fantastic. I would suggest shortening this up a tad! I loved the end shot- would have loved to see a strong call to action or high school message there to further drive home your message!
