  • 4/23 11:06 pm - Pros - One of the most technically sound trailers in the category and an interesting story to boot. Camera, sound, and editing are all solid. Production design sets itself apart in a very positive way and the performance felt real enough. Cons - Not much to mention here as this was a very well executed trailer. The story is introduced well but I'm not sure there is quite enough for a wider audience to want to engage. The genre may only attract a specific moviegoer, but that is splitting hairs. The echo effect near the end felt odd.

Positives: Very impactful lighting for "basement Brendan" – and overall, a lot of great ideas to visually express the dualism in the character (dark, high-contrast vs. flat, clean look). Good job!

Improvements: In the "be dead... be dead" repeated moment, try playing with subtle echo/reverb or sound mix to enhance the psychological tug-of-war between the two personalities. The voiceover track sounds a little "tin-y" high-treble – try and get some more bass out of that voice when recording.

Positives: Scary stuff!

Improvements: Add some audio besides voice over and same beat

Positives: I was instantly captivated and from the very beginning wanted to know how this was going to end. Very disturbing in a captivating way. The way he said "dead" and everything instantly reversed itself was certainly a creative tough. The lighting was pretty impeccable. The shadow contrast of him being in his "crazy world" so to speak, versus his perfect world added to the overall plot line. Everything is in the details and this shows it.

Improvements: It got a little bit lengthy...I think there may be a way to shorten it even more and continue to grad people's attention.
