  • 4/22 12:00 pm - Pros - Tons of variety. Movement was very smooth and brought a very cinematic quality to your frames. The mix of slow motion was on the verge of being overused but complimented the mood and grace of the piece. Consistent focus achieved drove viewer's eye to important parts of each composition. Cons - Although lots of spacial and movement variety is on display, there is not much lighting skill demonstrated. Majority of shots are exterior or in uncontrolled lighting situations. Exposure doesn't quite hit the mark is a lot of shots, causing detail loss, especially in wide shots. Best exposure at 1:31. Even when color correcting or adding filter effects, mind your meters for detail levels.
  • 4/14 3:20 pm - +You have a ride range of content in your shots +Many different camera compositions used +Editing was excellent: no errors, great pace, and all sequences flowed together well. -Overall feels a little repetitive -Missing any demonstration of indoor lighting

Positives: Very skilled shot composition and framing. Nice transition between edits with matching motion.

Improvements: There are no examples of production lighting. You need to include work that shows you can work with and manipulate light for productions. It is an essential part of cinematography. Far too many exterior landscape or architecture shots, it dominated the reel.

Positives: 0:25 sound and picture transition 1:26 invisible transition behind pillar

Improvements: 1:19 shot too dark, no point of interest 0:57 shot stands out on its own, no context within the edit

Positives: Wow, well done. The cross lens cut, using the girl and the brick pillar are really impressive transitions. I really enjoyed the use of the natural audio in the city setting coming in and out, you made it work really well with the song. Well done with all of your camera movement, it felt natural and fluid, but not forced.

Improvements: Earlier I mentioned how much I enjoyed your camera movement, that being said, do not be afraid to use a tripod or other mounting devices, there’s a time and place for these tools. In the beginning of your reel, everything was cut together so fast, I feel like I missed out on looking at some of the beautiful shots. I understand that you were maintaining with the beat of the song, however, people that are checking out reel want to see your work Speaking of your work, keep it up, you’re definitely going places, incredible stuff
