3/16 8:15 pm - So I loved the way you set up this story, I understood why this was a big game, and what each team had at stake and brought to the table.
Even throughout the story again, you really told it well, generally it seemed each word was picked carefully to keep your audience focused and following. What I found distracting was the B-roll, it seemed to just go wherever the ball went and as a result it just kind of jerked around, or if something amazing happened the camera would whip to the audience. As a result there were times that it just became a distraction. Lock the camera down, and be intentional about what you are getting, if you know great things are going to happen, use a second camera to record the fans so you can focus the other camera on the team and avoid the camera whips.
Always look for opportunities to move the shots around, I felt like the B-roll was all shot from the same perspective (I know it wasn’t but perception is reality) so switch up the types of shots you get close up, wide, high low, to let your audience have that sense of diversity and that cameras were everywhere.
I think an interview with a fan or two would have balanced out the excitement of the story, not a necessity but would have added a little more flavor to the story.
Broll whips around a lot
Again great writing, and I see attempts for the B-roll to capture what you were talking about.
