- 4/16 12:02 pm - Good intro. Anchor has a nice on-air personality. Tighten up cut to cheerleading segment. No need to hear the question from reporters to interviewees. Phrase the question during recording in a way so that the viewer will understand what the subject of your interviews is saying. And there's no need to include everything your subject says in response to the questions. Sometimes they aren't sure what they want to say at first and then correct themselves later in the interview. Cut this down to tighten the piece. Ultimately, viewers have a short attention span. You want to keep them invested in your piece. You have all the seniors in this shot and they are introduced to the viewer but we only hear from one of them. Voice over for the basketball segment has some extraneous noise in the background (another person's voice?). Try to eliminate this and perhaps incorporate natural sound from basketball game Broll with the voice over. For teacher internship, when you read your voice over, try to work toward a more conversational rhythm. You are reading, for sure, but we want you to sound LESS like you're reading it. Again, some natural sound from the BRoll would make this segment more compelling. Digital Media class segment only has some audio in left channel. Make sure to fill both channels during post. Lastly, don't forget to wrap up your show with a conclusion.
- 3/8 8:01 pm - Positives: Anchor and reporters seemed energetic. Stories were interesting Improvement: Anchor eye contact. Music in the background of the cheer team story was distracting. News Packages could have had more creative shots and better sound bite selection.
- 2/24 1:18 pm - Cons: Anchor seems a little informal. The anchor audio is very low compared to the open and the first story. I wouldn't fade to black between the story. The opening package seems very slow as we don't see many shot changes and don't get to interviews very quickly. Typically we edit these down and we don't just show the raw interviews. Teaching internship story doesn't have a lot of video. The story itself is interesting, just lack of visuals to help tell the story. Reporter should have a little more energy.
