  • 3/26 6:39 pm - Don't repeat "guys." That was not a "laser" pass. Lasers are flat - that pass had too much arc. Use the endzone camera for live action, not just replays. "It's picked-off," not "It's gonna be picked-off." Sure, the position of the endzone camera ended-up being far from where the DB broke the plane of the goal, but that's live sports directing. You won't always have 100% success in directing, but at least the director made the attempt to capture a scoring play live with the best camera angle available. And that endzone camera did a great job of following the pick. And the PAT catch was heading right at that endzone camera - would have looked great as part of live directing.
  • 3/10 12:26 pm - Announcers sound good and have good knowledge of the game and pointing out specifics w/players. Could use a bit more energy on the scoring play (even if it's not the home team). Replay worked really well with some good analysis, good job! Thought there could be some more variety with shots even in this short sequence, the wide shot seemed overly wide but maybe that's because of the placement and proximity in the stands. Overall good job, I chose this as one of my top picks in the submissions.
  • 3/5 12:34 pm - +Good use of replay. +Good graphics. -Main camera was not in focus. -Broadcasters need more energy especially during a big play. -Needed more footage to really see their use of multi-camera.

Positives: Good job by the director finding the offensive huddle while the announcers were talking about the size of the line. Listening is so important. The play-by-play announcer has some more energy that he showed when the interception came.

Improvements: Would like to hear more energy overall from the announcers--more like the TD I mentioned in the positive comments. The replay wasn't a great look at the INT TD.

Positives: Very coherent broadcast. Interesting facts prior to play and good set up that transition into the interception and touchdown. The replay was handled very well.

Improvements: Could have a little more excitment on the 2 point conversion, almost sound like a letdown. Would like more specific information on the interceptionand the player. Did mention "thought" it was his second pick 6. Was it?

Positives: Wow! Very nice coverage! The audio was really well mixed and provided a lot of natural elements such as crowd, field, and band sounds. The score-strip is really impressive and looks professional. The barn-door replay animations in and out look really nice and work really well! Camera angles are correct and followed the game precisely. The directing was smooth and followed the pacing of the game. Great job!

Improvements: Nothing really needs work! The one super nit-picky thing most schools don't have is a little sound effect going in and out of replay. If you have the capability of adding it, it will also just help with the audio story telling of the game. Same goes to adding music when talking about promos or keys to the game, going to break, etc. Great work!
