  • 4/1 4:54 pm - How does the IHSA & the refs allow a tripod on the floor during a game? Frame FTs wider so you can see the complete arc of the shot and players' legs & feet. Where's the hero shot after every FG or great defensive play? Good PBP.
  • 3/11 10:42 am - Good audio mix between announcers and crowd sound, hoop cam is pretty cool-- usually something not seen in HS coverage! There was a little too much wide cam movement for me when play is isolated to one half of the floor. Not as distracting when camera isolates 1/2, 1/3 of the floor and let things happen with that camera still instead of slightly following the ball around the half court area.
  • 3/5 4:16 pm - +Love the cam above the net!

Positives: Great job by the analyst to notice a new brace on the player who just came back in. These announcers really know the personnel on the floor. Some strong research and knowledge of the players.

Improvements: Would have liked for the director to cut to one of the "banged up" players on the first stoppage. The play-by-play announcer is well-informed about the players but could bring some more energy. The tone is a little flatter than it could be.

Positives: Camera work was very diverse and solid. Play by play was good when calling the action. Very good in-depth of player at line.

Improvements: The commentary needs to be more focused on the game action, didn't acknowledge the relevance of a player missing free throws. Spent too much time talking about player's injuries and non-game information. Pace is important in basketball broadcasting.

Positives: I am very impressed! There were many camera angles to tell the story and were all directed in a way that wasn't confusing and concise. The score-strip graphic in the lower-third was clean and had all the useful information including pop-up player stats. The sound of talent was mixed well and other natural sounds such as court and crowd sounds were picked up nicely hearing chanting and sounds of the squeaks on the shoes on the floor. Well done!

Improvements: Nothing much to really say here! I wish I could have saw a replay but besides that the story telling, and the production values were all really well!
