  • 4/23 12:13 pm - The knowledge of the different sports is apparent from the anchors. They work very well together and do a great job of introducing the packages. The audio is very low, and it appears that the only source is the omnidirectional table microphone. The graphic that is placed over the anchor(2:42) is both awkward and unnecessary. The set and anchors look professional and are well-lit. The program could use some simple lower third graphics stating the new topic of discussion or some more action b-roll. The pacing of the show plays very well it just needs a little more energy!
  • 3/17 10:41 am - First impression- audio. Audio sounds like it is coming from the camera and is burned out by the music at the beginning. Hosts look good- very professionally dressed. Keep coming back to audio- really need to use mics. When talking sports- try to avoid practice footage. The interviews at practice are fine, but to show how the team is doing, use game footage. Audio on interviews is better than the hosts. Much of the b-roll is just a stationary camera getting a bunch of guys shooting at the hoop. Be more creative in your camera angles (a Gatorade jug with guys putting bottles down?). When the camera returns to hosts at 3:30, the shot is very awkward and off center. With the use of creative camera angles, you can avoid having to have guests walk in- save time, have them at the desk and hide them with camera angles. Like the coverage of multiple sports. Main host- be careful of cutting off your guests. You ask a question, and jump in very quickly when the guest is speaking. Let them talk! A good show that when some tech issues are ironed out, can be solid.
  • 2/26 10:14 am - Anchor and sports reporters look professional and have a good discussion. There are some audio issues, are you using the camera mic? Music is too loud while he is talking in the beginning. Nice job covering multiple sports. Footage looks a little dark. Get more action shots and less of people kind of standing around for b-roll.

Positives: Love that this is all focused on your school and includes lots of interviews and highlights - content that you are best suited to be the primary provider of. Hearing from the athletes/coaches adds a lot to your discussion and analysis. The talent is well informed and prepared; clearly knows what they're talking about relative to the sports/teams being discussed.

Improvements: Watch some of the production elements. The music at the start was loud, and some of the b-roll came in with loud NATS audio that made it hard to hear the talent. Most of the piece seemed very dark, including the studio and game highlights. Having the analysts walk on the set didn't work for me. Have them there already as you shift and begin to talking about a new sport.

Positives: - The talent was very strong on air. They presented the information and did great with hand motions not being too over enthusiastic. The hockey analyst provided great detail into everything he spoke about showing a strong knowledge of the team and their players. - I liked that there were two different analysts that each spoke about their expertise. Gives more life to them as reporters. You want to hear what they have to say because of the dedication to the specific sport.

Improvements: - There were some things I would have done differently with the production itself. There were little audio blips throughout and the bed music in the first thirty seconds sounded too loud. That can make it hard to understand the talent. Also some of the segment interviews were out of focus. - I would work on the shot angles from the studio set up. The angles left too much head space on close ups or two much open space to the right of the two shot with the host and hockey analyst. - BONUS - The b-ball analyst's tie needed a bit of straightening :)

Positives: Very strong performance by the hosts, especially Jared. His enthusiasm came across, as did his knowledge. He did a nice job interacting with the other hosts. Great use of highlights, interviews, and graphics to keep things moving.

Improvements: The set could be jazzed up a bit. Looks a little dreary for a sports program. Some of the b-roll looked a little dark.
