This was topic that some of our seniors were trying to tackle and I kept asking 'Why?' Why is this important to someone outside of your school community? Once you answer that question, I think that could really move your piece in a better direction. If you are an underclassman, keep making pieces. If you are a senior, I wish you the best in your future and congratulations!

A few things I might suggest, the music you chose was a little distracting because of it pulsing in and out sound to it. If you use music in a news story, it should just be there to fill in dead spots, if I am noticing it, it is detracting from your content. I thought having the two editors come on was good, each had a piece of this story to tell without being to redundant, I might have shot them in different locations just to give a more diverse look to it but that is certainly not a major issue. I would have liked to see so more student interviews, Josh talked to long and said many things. I think it would have been more effective if several different people gave quick, diverse opinions. It would have moved the story along faster and I think it would have a more balanced feel to the story. For example, having one student concede in saying it was getting out of hand each year, would have been a way to make this story less of the yearbook staff vs the rest of the school. I know finding that interview might have been hard, but I think it would have helped the credibility of your story. Not a bad piece, just add a little more diversity to your next story and it will be great.
