  • 3/16 7:58 pm - The video is well put together, and I can see some real skill in your technique of how you set your shots up (interview shot in front of black), capture visuals (drawer shot), and keep your audience engaged. The main thing I think holding this video back is the story itself. The way it is set up everyone knows exactly where the story is going so there is not much drama to it, or any real character development in it; we are just all waiting for the knife to go into the person you introduced from the cool drawer shot, and carrot cutting shots. Again, there were no surprises here. Your audio levels are all over, I am not sure if it is intentional or not. The other thing that didn’t help develop your characters or bursts of anger is that it didn’t come across as believable, I don’t know if it was the tone, inflection, the facials, or the words, but there just didn’t feel like there was a synergy to it that made it all come together and instead had me wondering are you mad, and if so what are you mad about. There was so much text on the clipboard shot that I am not sure if I am supposed to pause it or not, but I feel like if I don’t, I might not fully understand the story and what happened. You have a talent and skill with many of the technical visual elements, I think when you story telling skills catch up you are going to have some really great stuff.
  • 3/10 11:22 am - Positives: Dramatic lighting really adds to the serious tone of the story! Solid, smooth camera work in the opening few shots hooks the viewer into the story. Clipboard shot at the end is too brief and contains too many details needed to explain the diagnosis, and so fails to connect the dots at the end of the story.
  • 3/9 7:39 pm - audio is quiet; good variety of angles
