  • 4/23 11:00 pm - Pros - Very well told story in this trailer. Although hokey at times, the vast visual variety and use of voice over narration introduce the potential for a very exciting mystery that lies ahead. Cons - The first voiceover line has a hollow sound quality and does not even seem necessary as the introductory element. What if the letter was the first thing read and then the son says he feels like his dad is trying to talk to him through the items because he can't accept the way he died because he doesn't believe his dad would take his own life? That might build more gradually instead of smack the audience with expository dialogue in the first line.
Judge 1

Positives: This trailer is well-paced, establishing a clear story and a nice build to climactic action sequences. The audio transition from father to son around :30 works very well. Good job!

Improvements: Dialogue/audio recording can be improved to give the piece an extra layer of polish. End font treatment could be re-evaluated to fit the mood/style of the piece.

Judge 2

Positives: Solid editing and lighting

Improvements: Maybe a moer adult voice for the "dad"

Judge 3

Positives: The edit were very quick and kept the viewer on their toes. Nothing seemed forced, the pacing was excellent! The storyline was easy to follow, yet strong and emotional at the same time. Nicely done!

Improvements: The camera could have been switched up during the fight scene just to make it a little more realistic. Sometimes we can trick the viewer into seeng what we want them to see.
